Where every rabbit hole begins with a question...
There have always been stories that make us stop and think.
Ancient maps that seem unusual.
Lost civilisations that disappeared without explanation.
Gigantic structures that leave us wondering, "How did they build that?"
Old legends shared by cultures separated by oceans.
Mysterious places hidden beneath the sea.
Stories passed down for thousands of years.
Some are supported by evidence.
Some are based on history.
Some are rooted in authentic Islamic sources.
Others are simply fascinating ideas that spread across the internet.
One day I found myself watching another documentary, reading another historical article and then, somehow, three hours later... I'd fallen down another rabbit hole.
But instead of immediately believing everything I heard, or dismissing it all as nonsense, I found myself asking a different question.
What does the evidence actually say?
That simple question became the beginning of The Rabbit Hole Detective.
This isn't a blog that tries to prove every theory.
It isn't a place to mock people for asking questions either.
It's a place to investigate.
Honestly.
Respectfully.
And with an open mind.
Our Opening Du'a
"Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us. Grant us mercy from Yourself. Indeed, You are the Bestower."
(Qur'an 3:8)
Every investigation begins with this du'a.
Because our goal isn't simply to collect information.
Our goal is to seek the truth without allowing our hearts to drift away from Allah's guidance.
If we ever have to choose between an exciting theory and authentic revelation, revelation always comes first.
Our Investigation Rules
Before opening any case file, there is one rule that matters above everything else.
We are not here to prove theories.
We are here to investigate them honestly.
Every Rabbit Hole Detective case follows exactly the same investigation process.
🟢 Level One
What does the Qur'an say?
The Qur'an is our highest source of truth.
If Allah has already answered the question, our investigation begins there.
🟢 Level Two
What do authentic hadith tell us?
Next we examine authentic narrations to understand what the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught.
Weak or fabricated narrations are never treated as evidence.
🟡 Level Three
What does history tell us?
We compare historical records, eyewitness accounts, archaeology, geography and recognised historical sources.
History is valuable, but it is written by people and should always be examined carefully.
🟡 Level Four
What does science currently know?
Where appropriate, we examine scientific discoveries and ask whether they support, challenge or remain neutral on the subject.
Science continues to develop, so our understanding may also develop as new evidence is discovered.
🟠 Level Five
What are the theories?
Only after examining the strongest available evidence do we explore documentaries, books, legends and popular internet theories.
Sometimes they contain a small piece of truth.
Sometimes they don't.
Final Verdict
Every investigation ends with one of four conclusions.
🟢 Established
Supported by the Qur'an or authentic Sunnah.
🟡 Supported
Reasonable evidence points in this direction.
🟠 Unproven
Interesting, but the evidence is currently incomplete.
🔴 Speculation
No reliable evidence currently supports the claim.
If the evidence remains incomplete...
We'll simply say:
Allah knows best.
Our Detective Motto
"O you who believe, if a sinful person comes to you with news, verify it..."
(Qur'an 49:6)
That single verse is the foundation of every Rabbit Hole Detective investigation.
