π The Mystery
Across almost every civilisation, stories of giants appear again and again.
From the Greeks to the Norse, from Native American tribes to ancient Mesopotamia, tales of enormous humans have survived for thousands of years.
Were these simply legends?
Were they exaggerated over time?
Or could there be a real historical foundation behind some of these stories?
For Muslims, this investigation begins somewhere very different.
Not with mythology.
But with authentic hadith.

What Does the Qur'an Say?
Although the Qur'an does not tell us Adam's exact height, it does describe previous nations as possessing extraordinary physical strength.
Regarding the people of ΚΏΔd, Allah says:
"Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ΚΏΔd, with Iram, city of lofty pillars, the like of which had never been created in the land?"
(Qur'an 89:6 to 8)
Allah also says:
"As for ΚΏΔd, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, 'Who is greater than us in strength?' Did they not consider that Allah, who created them, was greater than them in strength?"
(Qur'an 41:15)
The Qur'an clearly tells us that some earlier nations possessed remarkable strength, but it does not state they were giants in height.

What Does Authentic Sunnah Tell Us?
This is where the investigation becomes fascinating.
The Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί said:
"Allah created Adam sixty cubits tall. Then mankind continued to decrease in height until now."
(Sahih al Bukhari 3326, Sahih Muslim 2841)
How tall is sixty cubits?
Depending on the cubit used, Adam (AS) would have been approximately:
π 27 to 30 metres
or roughly
π 90 to 100 feet tall.
This is one of the clearest authentic narrations concerning the size of the first human.
The hadith also tells us something equally important.
Human height gradually decreased over time.
Exactly how quickly this happened is not explained.

What Does History Tell Us?
Stories of giants appear all over the world.
Examples include:
• The Nephilim mentioned in the Bible.
• Greek Titans.
• Giant warriors in Celtic legends.
• Native American traditions describing giant tribes.
• Ancient Arabian stories about the people of ΚΏΔd.
Many internet posts also claim that giant skeletons have been discovered and hidden.
However, despite these claims, no verified archaeological evidence has confirmed the existence of humans anywhere near Adam's reported height.
Some famous "giant skeleton" photographs were later shown to be edited or created for digital art competitions.

What Does Science Say?
Modern humans rarely exceed 8 feet in height.
Medical conditions such as gigantism can cause exceptional height, but nowhere near 90 to 100 feet.
Current fossil evidence has not identified humans anywhere close to Adam's reported size.
Does that mean the hadith is false?
For Muslims, no.
Allah is fully capable of creating Adam differently from every human who came after him.
The absence of archaeological evidence today does not overturn authentic revelation.
At the same time, we should avoid claiming evidence exists when it has not been verified.

Questions Worth Investigating
• How quickly did mankind decrease in height after Adam?
• Were Prophet NΕ«αΈ₯ (AS) and his people still significantly taller than us?
• Were the people of ΚΏΔd unusually tall, or simply exceptionally powerful?
• Could giant traditions around the world preserve distant memories of mankind's earliest generations?
These are fascinating questions.
At present, authentic Islamic sources do not provide definitive answers.

As Muslims, we do not believe Adam was a giant because of internet videos.
We believe it because an authentic hadith tells us so.
Everything beyond that must be investigated carefully.
Authentic revelation comes first.
History and science help us understand what we can observe.

If Adam (AS) Was Created This Tall...
Authentic hadith tells us that Adam (AS) was created sixty cubits tall and that mankind gradually decreased in height.
This raises several fascinating questions.
How quickly did humans become shorter?
Was the change gradual over thousands of years?
Or did it happen more rapidly after certain generations?
Allah has not revealed the answer, so we should avoid claiming certainty.
Why Might We Find Very Little Physical Evidence?
If much larger humans once existed, several possibilities have been suggested.
Perhaps:
• Their remains simply have not been discovered.
• Many remains decomposed over thousands of years.
• Geological events, including the flood of NΕ«αΈ₯ (AS), may have buried or destroyed ancient evidence.
• Future archaeological discoveries may reveal more than we currently know.
These are possibilities only.
They are not established facts.
Why Do So Many Cultures Speak About Giants?
Stories of giant people appear across the world.
If early humanity really was much larger, perhaps some of these traditions preserve distant memories passed down through generations.
Over time, true events can become mixed with exaggeration and legend.
This could explain why giant stories often differ while sharing similar themes.
Again, this is only a hypothesis.
Could History Have Forgotten Them?
History has forgotten countless ancient peoples.
Entire civilisations have disappeared beneath sand, forests and the sea.
If giant humans existed only in mankind's earliest generations, it is possible that very little physical evidence has survived.
That possibility alone, however, does not prove the theory.
Could It Actually Have Happened?
Unlike many rabbit holes, this investigation begins with authentic revelation.
We do not believe Adam (AS) was created sixty cubits tall because of internet theories.
We believe it because the Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί authentically informed us.
What remains uncertain is everything that happened afterwards.
How rapidly mankind decreased in height.
How long exceptionally tall people continued to exist.
Whether any physical evidence remains today.
These questions remain unanswered.
Detective's Conclusion
This investigation reminds us that authentic revelation and scientific discovery answer different kinds of questions.
Revelation tells us what happened.
Science explores what physical evidence remains.
The absence of evidence is not necessarily evidence of absence.
At the same time, we should never claim discoveries have been made when they have not.
Good investigators remain patient, honest and willing to say, "We don't know."

Our modern experience is only a tiny chapter in the history of mankind.

The strongest foundation is always authentic revelation.
Everything else is part of the investigation.
